Woodside View is a stylish self catering retreat near Dartmouth suitable for two people. It stands high on the side of a classically beautiful South Devon valley and is yet only eight minutes drive from the centre of Dartmouth. It has a large full length feature window affording superb views of the woods and skyline. Our new addition is our elevated patio which faces the morning sunrise. The overall appearance is similar to a barn conversion with the lower walls in natural stone and the upper areas clad in cedar wood. The roof is in Welsh slate. The design is intended to blend in with the surrounding woodland with the owners house further up the hill allowing detachment and seclusion.
Woodside House and Woodside View are the only buildings in this small valley. “Woodside View” is situated on the outskirts of Blackawton, South Hams, it is perfectly situated to visit the principle towns ofDartmouth (4), Totnes (8), Kingsbridge (8) and Salcombe (14) miles away. The village of Blackawton itself is just 10 mins walk to the church, pubs and shop. To the North of Blackawton and within 30mins drive is the magnificent Tors and scenery of Dartmoor. Even Cornwall is only just over one hour’s drive away and so making day trips perfectly feasible.
For those who enjoy the beaches, the award winning Blackpool Sands and Start bay are only 10 & 15 minutes drive. The coastal path can be easily accessed and the beautiful estuaries of Dartmouth & Kingsbridge fully appreciated either from the lower levels or the surrounding cliffs.
